Environment and Regions
We directly support and promote initiatives that respond to urgent, real needs in the regions, both by collaborating with local bodies and institutions and first-hand by promoting fundraising for specific projects.
By engaging in dialogue and meeting with local institutions and communities, the needs of many public schools emerged: Eternit removal, purchasing teaching materials and equipment, and providing playgrounds are just a few examples of how many emergencies there can be today within the school system and how significant collaboration between citizens, institutions and businesses can be.
Launched in 2018, today structural work or the purchase of teaching materials have been done in 80 schools thanks to our contribution.
Training for disadvantaged young people
In 2016, Banco BPM and the Municipality of Milan created an innovative public-private partnership project aimed at providing young people not in education, employment or training (NEET), with the tools and skills required to enter the world of work, through training which aims to find them positions within companies that need specialised personnel quickly.
In the three-year period (2016-2018), we helped around 80 young people enter the world of work through our Development and Training department, finding them positions requiring workers specialised in mechanics, baking, pastry-making, coffee and fishmongering.
With our Participa anche tu (Get Involved) communications campaign, we promote fundraising initiatives desired and requested by the community via regional partners to support school, environmental and cultural projects.
The many projects implemented included safety measures adopted in a centre for the disabled, the renovation of a path by the sea, the construction of a volleyball court for a school and the donation of a defibrillator.
